Janet Holiway, a beloved Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on October 31, 2023. She entered this world on December 21, 1954, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, born to Robert and Clara Holiway.


Janet's life was a remarkable journey filled with adventure, love, and compassion. She had a deep appreciation for the wonders of the world and lived her life to the fullest, traveling to various destinations, including Europe, Jamaica, and Mexico. She also had the unique experience of living in Africa as a young child, which enriched her understanding of different cultures and perspectives.


Janet's education led her to graduate from Edison High School in Tulsa, where she made lifelong friendships and cherished memories. She was known not only for her intelligence but also for her culinary talents. Janet's family and friends will forever remember her for her mouthwatering dishes, including her famous potato salad, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and the irresistible German chocolate cake. Her kitchen was a place of love and comfort for all who entered.


Throughout her life, Janet pursued careers in dental hygiene, massage therapy, and acupuncture, showcasing her dedication to improving the well-being of those she encountered. Her gentle touch and caring nature touched the lives of many.


One of the greatest joys in Janet's life was being a grandmother, known affectionately as "Gammy" by her cherished grandchildren. She adored Avery and Vivian. She was also a proud Aunt to Dana, Stevie, and Kaither. Janet shared her love, wisdom, and warmth with them. Janet's presence in their lives will forever be a source of inspiration and love.


Janet is survived by her son: Ambrose and his wife Emi, her loving siblings, Karen Rambo of Seattle, Washington, and David Holiway of Boulder, Colorado. Her family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to know her will forever treasure the beautiful memories and the legacy of love and compassion she leaves behind.


Janet Holiway will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She has left an indelible mark on our hearts and souls, and her memory will forever be cherished.
