Janet Funk

February 12, 1950 — January 13, 2026

Janet Kay Funk

Janet Kay Funk, 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, with her loving family by her side. Born on February 12, 1950, in Lima, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Randolph and Milda (Luntz) Zwiebel.

Janet met the love of her life, Danny "Dan" Funk, and together they built a foundation rooted in love, faith, and family. They were united in marriage on August 17, 1968, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wapakoneta, Ohio. Janet found her greatest fulfillment in her role as a mother, devoting her early married life to raising her three sons and creating a warm, loving home.

Following the family's relocation from Ohio to Las Vegas, Janet began a new chapter, returning to school to earn her Associate's degree. She entered the professional world as a Medical Records Registrar, where she was admired for her dedication and meticulous attention to detail. She found particular joy in rounding at the hospital to assist new mothers and fathers with birth certificates, often taking the opportunity to practice her Spanish while connecting with the families she served.

A woman of deep spiritual conviction, Janet loved Jesus and cherished her church community, always eager to serve wherever she worshiped. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Janet also found great joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid game player, enjoying Bridge, dominoes, and online games like Trivia Crack. She especially treasured the time spent playing games online with her grandchildren, which brought her endless happiness and kept them close to her heart despite any distance.

Janet had a special fondness for the color mauve and delighted in the beauty it brought into her world. She held dear the memories of time spent outdoors with her sons, riding bikes and filling their childhoods with laughter and adventure. Family was the heartbeat of Janet's life, and she poured herself fully into those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dan Funk, and her parents, Randolph and Milda Zwiebel.

Janet's legacy lives on through her sons, Joshua (Amy) Funk, Andrew (Alicia) Funk, and Nathan Funk; along with her cherished grandchildren, Lindsey (Josh) Oberhausen, Grayson Funk, and Dawson Funk; one great-grandchild, McKinley Oberhausen and brothers Bruce (Clara), and Dale (Julie), and sisters Norma (Al) Kaeck and Ann (Denny) Doseck.
