James Porter

April 10, 1947 — January 5, 2017

James Everett Porter, son of R.O. Porter and Letty LaRue (Williams) Sherrill, passed away, Thursday, January 5, 2017 in Tulsa. He was born in Tulsa on April 10, 1947.

James graduated from Owasso High School in 1965. He served in the United States Army from 1967 through 1970 in the Vietnam War. James retired in 2011 as a Mechanical Engineer from Mayes County Medical Center.

James was preceded in death by siblings: Theresa Porter and Rodger Porter. He is survived by wife, Susan Virginia Porter; son, Jared Porter and spouse Lindsey; daughter, Julie Beatty and spouse William; and daughter, Jennifer Juarez and spouse Roberto; six grandchildren: Victoria, Alexander, Nicholas, Matthew, Maddox, Milo; siblings: Randall Porter of Ocala, FL; Lisa Kaiser of Groveland, FL; Leesa Boyles of Broken Arrow, OK; and Melanie Hill of Ada, OK.
