James Beans

September 27, 1960 — April 30, 2025

James Allen Beans, lovingly known as Jim, passed away on April 30, 2025, at the age of 64 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on September 27, 1960, in Painesville, Ohio, to Paul and Judy Beans, Jim lived a life marked by generosity, humor, and an unshakable devotion to those he loved.

Jim found joy in life's simple pleasures and the tools of his trade. A skilled woodworker with a passion for firearms, he enjoyed crafting bullets, building antennas, and spending time at the gun range in Okmulgee - always making time afterward for a plate of his favorite Mexican food. His hobbies were more than pastimes; they were expressions of a life lived with purpose and precision.

In recent years, Jim shared three beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara Beans of Glenpool, Oklahoma. Though their time together was short, they packed each day with love, laughter, and shared projects. One of Jim's most heartfelt gifts to Barbara wasn't a diamond ring, but a shed - a shared space to work, dream, and be together.

Together, Jim and Barbara were active members of the Batfish Club, a local ham radio group. Jim found joy in tinkering with equipment, building antennas, and connecting with others through the airwaves. He was a man of many talents, but above all, he was a man of heart.

Jim was known to be generous, thoughtful, and just a bit stubborn - the kind of man who would tease you with a smile but never hesitate to help if you were in need. His family describes him simply: a good man. He didn't wait to be asked; he simply saw needs and quietly worked to meet them.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Paul Beans; his brother, Rickie Beans; and his late wife, Joyce Beans.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Beans; his mother, Judy Beans; and his siblings: Debbie Jackson, Robert Beans (Brenda), Trisha King (Keith), and Thomas Beans (Lisa). He is also lovingly remembered by his stepchildren: Kathy Conner (Victor), Kim Gayler, Kara Phipps (John), Josh Davis, and Krissy Davis.

Jim was a proud grandfather to Kandace Ross (Kevin Adler), Kelsey Langley (Thomas), Kallie Conner, Audrey Phipps, Jessica Davis, and Jordan Davis. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Kanden Ross.

He also leaves behind extended family and those he considered his own: Robert Goodson (Jennifer) and their children, Connor and Carly; Joel Goodson (Taylor) and daughter Aurora; and Mary Thomas and her daughter Myranda Thomas.

A man of quiet strength and deep kindness, Jim touched many lives with his laughter, his loyalty, and his love. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him.
