James Alexander Winterhawk Pedro, affectionately known as Jamie, was a remarkable soul who left an indelible mark on friends and family with his vibrant spirit and infectious giggle. It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jamie on November 8, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was 31 years old.
Born on January 31, 1992, in Monterey, California, Jamie was raised in the enriching landscapes of Chimayo, New Mexico. Jamie's love for artistry and creativity was nurtured early on by his mother Shana and the surrounding community.
Jamie was a free spirit who embraced life with a passion for gaming, dancing, and expressing his creativity through various art forms including dance and visual arts. He was an avid follower of Pagan and Wiccan traditions, finding solace in the beauty of nature and the spiritual realm. Jamie even took his devotion to new heights by obtaining ordination through Cthulhu --a testament to his unique path of spirituality.
For James, video games were not merely a pastime but a passion that allowed him to immerse himself in new worlds and embark on exciting adventures. He cherished the friendships and connections he forged within the gaming community. He especially loved to play games with his sisters, Danica and Mallory.
Within his circle of family and friends, Jamie was known for his laid-back nature and his unique sense of humor, which could lighten even the darkest of moods. His smile could effortlessly brighten up the room. He possessed a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of those around him, and his loyalty was unmatched. His infectious giggle and radiant smile had the power to lighten the darkest of souls and bring joy wherever he went.
Beyond his hobbies and interests, James treasured his family deeply. He was a loving son and brother. James brought many happy moments to his mother, Shana Cozad, stepfather Bear Christensen, maternal grandmother Laney Humphrey, paternal grandmother Carol Cozad, paternal grandfather Glenn Solomon, and sisters Patrina Hunt, Danica Tafoya, Mallory Tafoya, and Edie Manley were the pillars of his life. Their unwavering love and support brought him solace and happiness.
Jamie Alexander Winterhawk Pedro touched the lives of many during his time here on Earth. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
