Helen Cullison of Tulsa passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, surrounded by her girls and a companion, "Pete." She was a devoted mother, grandmother, nurse, and friend whose life was marked by compassion, strength, and quiet grace.
Helen was born in Siloam Springs, AR to Jack and Vera (West) Harrison. She later married the love of her life, David A. Cullison Jr., on November 2, 1957, in Cheyenne, WY. Together they built a loving home and were blessed with four daughters who became the center of Helen's world.
Caring for others came naturally to Helen. As a registered nurse, she spent many years serving patients in hospitals and nursing facilities with kindness, patience, and dedication. Her career culminated with her retirement as Director of Nursing at Collinsville Manor, where she was admired for both her leadership and her servant's heart. Nursing was more than a profession to Helen - it was a calling.
Beyond her work, Helen found joy in life's simple and beautiful moments. She loved quilting and sewing, planting flowers, and quietly setting outdoors watching birds from her home. She created warmth wherever she went, whether through a handmade quilt, a caring conversation, or the steady support she offered to those she loved. Her family will remember her as the heart of the home - nurturing, resilient, and deeply devoted.
She is survived by her four daughters, Toni Cullison of Tulsa, Kim Young and her husband, Dan, of Lubbock, Joy Allen and her husband, Jeff, of Jenks, and Kathy Rigney and her husband, Randy, of Fort Gibson; grandchildren, David Hastings, Blake Hastings, Alex Churchill, Spencer Churchill, Olivia Churchill, Caden Young, Tyler Allen, Kaitlin Castillo and her husband, Zack, Lauren Allen, Avery Rigney and his wife, Morgan, Adam Rigney and his wife, Mary; one brother, Carl Harrison and his wife, Linda, of Owasso.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, David; her siblings, Bob Harrison, Cyd Farley, and Susie Dugan; and her granddaughter, Kristen Hastings.
Helen's gentle spirit, unwavering love for her family, and lifelong dedication to caring for others will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
