Glenda Evans Hinton

October 9, 1936 — May 26, 2026

Glenda Hinton passed away on May 26th, 2026 at the age of 89, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Glenda joins her husband of 61 years, Jack, who passed away in 2021. She is survived by her sons Derek and Brandon, their wives Becky and Laura, her grandchildren Hayley, Evan, Justin, Samantha, and Sarah, and her sister Wilma Lee Richardson. She also joins her beloved granddaughter Nikki Hinton, in God's loving arms.

Glenda was born in 1936 in Mannford, Oklahoma, to her parents Howard and Alice Mae Evans. She spent most of her school years growing up in Mannford, where she met the love of her life in the first grade, Jack, and they were married in 1959. She graduated from Central State University and at the time, was the first woman from Mannford to have a college degree. She devoted the next few decades to being at home raising her two sons and then eventually went back to school to earn a BS in Psychology from Washburn University in Topeka, KS.

She used that degree to support a brief career working to help childless couples adopt children, which gave her immense joy. When Jack retired in 1991, Glenda travelled with him around the country and world and made many wonderful friends. Whether through Jack’s involvement with the National Society of Professional Engineers, their church communities, their love of Kansas Jayhawk basketball, or their time at Montereau Retirement Community, Glenda and Jack were blessed with many wonderful friends who gave them much joy.

Glenda had a rock-solid faith in God that she relied upon throughout her life. She loved, cherished and, if needed, fought for her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Glenda lived a blessed, enriching life.
