Gerald Glenn Ford, 72, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on July 7, 1953, in Tulsa to Loil Glenn and Jessie Marie (Neel) Ford.
Gerald lived a full and vibrant life, defined by his dedication to family, his love for the outdoors, and his passion for classic cars and airplanes. He graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, where he enjoyed playing sports and, by his own admission, lived a little on the wild side. He met the love of his life, Teresa in the ninth grade at Hamilton Junior High School. Though from different circles-he the adventurous spirit, she the more reserved soul-the two fell deeply in love. They were married for 53 years, building a life of enduring commitment and joy together.
Gerald and Teresa raised two children, Jeremy and Amanda, and Gerald poured his heart into being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He especially treasured his role as "Papa." His children and grandchildren always brought him joy, but it was his four great-grandsons who lit up his heart in ways words could hardly capture. He was deeply active in their lives, their best of friends, and he often said that no matter how hard a day might be, they could always make it better.
Gerald retired from American Airlines after 50 plus years in the airline industry. His job allowed him to be around airplanes-something he had always loved since boyhood. Outside of work, he enjoyed stock car races, hunting, fishing, and trips to the casino. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees, and OU Sooners. Yard work and cars were "his jobs," and he always found satisfaction in keeping things running.
He also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Boone, who was always faithfully by his side.
Gerald was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Ford; his sisters, Janet and Renee; and his parents, Loil and Jessie Ford.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Teresa Ford; his daughter, Amanda Siegfried and her husband James; grandchildren Shaylynn Siegfried (partner Bryce Short), Cody Siegfried (Keira Ellison), Zaden Hale-Ford, and Chloe Ford; and "The B Boys" his great-grandsons Brantley, Baylen, Bryer, and Brewer Short.
Gerald's love for life, his laughter, his mechanical know-how, and most of all, his deep love for his family will always be remembered. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
