George William Banks, Jr.

George William Banks, Jr., was born in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, January 1, 1944 and went home July 18, 2023. 

He attended Orrick High School and then joined the Air Force, serving for eight years in Thailand, Okinawa and Vietnam. He married Donna Kay Singleton in September of 1963. 

George enjoyed writing, authoring two books, woodworking, photography, riding motorcycles and camping. 

George was preceded in death by his parents, George William Banks Sr and Ilene Barbee Coffman, a brother, Michael Dean Banks and a son, Billy Joe Banks. 

He is survived by his wife, Donna, of Jenks, OK, his children, Melissa Chance of Broken Arrow, OK, Vanessa Neal and her husband, Sam, of Broken Arrow, OK and Jason Banks and his wife, Barbara, of Colbert, OK, his brother, Rick Banks and wife Cindy and family, his granddaughter Julie Howard and her husband, John and son, Cash of Coweta, OK, and granddaughter, Katherine Mosteller, of Broken Arrow, OK. 

Services will be held at River Oaks Christian Church in Jenks, Oklahoma, 11:00am, Saturday, July 22, 2023.
