George Washington Powers

George Washington Powers, 73, passed away Friday, December 24, 2004 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family members.
Mr. Powers was born in Tahlequah to James Powers and Susan Tripplett on December 11, 1931. He attended schools in Tahlequah, joined the United States Army and got married May 6, 1954 to Thelma Cookson.
Mr. Powers was a machinist and worked for Oil Dynamics. He moved to Broken Arrow from Tahlequah where he resided for the past 41 years. Mr. Powers enjoyed raising cattle, attending auctions and having coffee with his friends.
He was preceded in death by both his parents, his wife: Thelma; brother: Bill Powers, sister: Revette Patterson and brother: John Powers.
He is survived by one brother, Sam Powers of Portland, Oregon; one sister, Sue Berkhead; his son Garry Powers of Bixby; daughters: Peggy Parks and her husband, Randy of Jay; Sherry Bogart and her husband, Gary of Broken Arrow; Cathy Blevins and her husband, Richard of Bixby; Georgia Cook and her husband, Todd of Broken Arrow and Janet Ballor and her husband, Brian of Smithville, MO. Mr. Powers is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
The following grandchildren will be pallbearers: Jason Parks, Greg Powers, Daniel Parks, Garren Powers, Jordan Bogart, and Eli Cook.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Rebecca Blevins, Katie Cook, Julie Bogart, Tiffany Powers, Adrianna Ballor, and Allyssa Ballor.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Schaudt's Funeral Service Chapel, Glenpool, Oklahoma with the Reverend Randy Parks officiating. Graveside services with be at Double Springs Cemetery Tahlequah, Oklahoma at 2:00 p.m. following the funeral service.
