Gary Don Thomas, age 61, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026, with his loving family by his side. Gary was born on December 17, 1964, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Donald and Beth (Howell) Thomas.
Gary was a hardworking man who took great pride in his work as a plumber. He was someone who believed in working hard, taking care of those he loved, and always putting others before himself. Along the way, he met the love of his life, Amy, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, family, and countless cherished memories.
Gary was a man who never met a stranger. He had a way of making everyone feel like family and loved those around him fiercely and wholeheartedly. He was silly, ornery, and known for his sense of humor that could bring laughter even when it was least expected. Gary was a man of great integrity who always thought of others and found joy in making his wife and children happy.
Family was at the center of Gary's world. He loved having everyone together and treasured the time spent making memories with the people he loved most. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He affectionately called his children his "maggots," a special nickname that will forever bring smiles and memories to those who knew him best.
Gary enjoyed many things in life, including music, dancing, and singing. He also jokingly referred to himself as a "semi-professional driver," a title he proudly claimed. Whether he was working, enjoying music, making someone laugh, or simply surrounded by his family, Gary had a way of making ordinary moments special.
Gary's love was genuine, his heart was big, and his presence was unforgettable. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be treasured by all who were blessed to know him. Though he is no longer with us, his laughter, humor, love, and the many lessons he taught those around him will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Beth Thomas; and his three brothers, Richard, Allan, and Tim.
He leaves behind his loving spouse, Amy Thomas of Claremore; his daughters, Jessica Thomas and partner Tyler Russell, Whitney Ausbrooks and husband Daniel, and Jennifer Thomas and partner Roger Seago III; his son, Gary Thomas-Jennings and wife Carlie; his stepchildren, Jamy McIlvane and spouse Nick Vandiver, James McIlvan and wife Cing, and Jentry Riccio and spouse Chris; his grandchildren, Lillian Ausbrooks, Rylie Russell, Hayden Riccio, Andrew Riccio, and Bella Riccio; his sister, Patti Hendrickson and husband Brian; nephew Garrett; nieces Emily, Kylie, and Anna; and his precious dog, Becky.
Gary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends, who will carry his love, laughter, and unforgettable spirit with them always.
