Farrel Louise Vestal passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. Farrel was blessed with a long and full life of 95 years.
Farrel was born on June 2, 1930, in Porum, Oklahoma, to Verna Skocdopole Chambers and W.O. Chambers. Born during the Great Depression, she lived through the Dust Bowl, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Through it all, she remained a devout Christian, a proud American, and a woman of quiet strength and resilience.
Early in her career, Farrel worked for McDonnell Douglas. She later dedicated over 20 years of part-time service as a file clerk with the Tulsa County Court Clerk's Office, retiring at the remarkable age of 80. Following her retirement, Farrel enjoyed many meaningful years traveling, staying active, and spending time with her dear friend Charlie Aggers. Together they attended church, went to the gym, and traveled, forming a cherished friendship that brought great joy to her life.
Farrel had a love for travel and explored much of the United States, Europe, and Canada, maintaining close connections with family in Canada along the way. After her children were grown, she welcomed a "bonus daughter," Andrea Fincher, into her life, assisting Andrea on her life's journey-a relationship that enriched them both.
Family was at the heart of everything Farrel did. She loved spending time with her sister, children, grandchildren, and extended family. One of her greatest joys was autumn, especially the fall foliage. She took her young children on annual fall tours to eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas, a tradition they lovingly continued later in life by taking her on many fall trips of her own.
Farrel was the driving force behind planning the annual Skocdopole Family Reunions for the past 50 years, ensuring that generations stayed connected. She took great pride in living independently until the very end of her life, a testament to her strength, determination, and spirit.
Farrel was preceded in death by her parents, Verna and W.O. Chambers; her brothers, J.B. Chambers, Wayne Chambers, and Glen Chambers; and her daughter, Shery Kerr.
She is survived by her sister, Judy Summers; her children, Ed (Patricia) Vestal, Denice (Howard) Chubin, Mark (Linda) Vestal, and Andrea (Mark) Reichenbach; and her grandchildren, Marcy (David) Yuknat, Skye Roberts, Lisa (Steve) Willett, Kellie (David) Jackman, Katie Vestal, Ann Vestal, Chris Vestal, Natalie (Jason) Hearn, Ashley Vestal, Lindsey (Josh) Adesokan, Aubrey (Aaron) Flores, and Damien Alizadan. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Farrel Louise Vestal lived a life defined by faith, family, service, and love. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in Farrel's name.
