Eric, born on March 6, 1981, in Enid, Oklahoma, left us too soon on October 10, 2026. Eric was a spirited soul whose presence was as vibrant as the open Oklahoma skies under which he was raised. Born to Dale Dunn and Patricia Ellis, Eric's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a hint of mischief that made him unforgettable to all who knew him.
Eric's journey began in earnest at Mounds High School, where he graduated in 2000. Those who shared those formative years with him remember a young man whose zest for life was infectious. He was often seen meticulously cleaning the wheels of his truck, a pastime that soon turned into an adventure as he drove around town, eagerly seeking the company of friends. His early years were filled with the thrill of dirt bikes and 4-wheelers, embodying a spirit of adventure and a love for life's simple joys.
To understand Eric was to know his heart was as big as his personality. His orneriness and penchant for flirting were legendary among friends and family, sparking countless stories and smiles that will be cherished for years to come. But above all, his greatest joy and profound pride came with the birth of his son, Dylan. From that moment, his life's focus shifted, and every action, every decision was made with Dylan at the forefront of his mind.
Eric is preceded in death by his beloved son, Dylan Dunn, his grandfather Edward Lewis, his aunt Kim Tilley, his uncle Larry Freeman Jr., and his grandmother Janith Freeman. These losses, though painful, never dimmed the light he brought to the world. Instead, they strengthened the bonds with those who survive him, including his father Dale Dunn, his mother and stepfather Steve and Patty Ellis, grandmother, Mary Lewis, and his extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. In accordance with his family's wishes, a private funeral ceremonywill be held to honor Eric's life. For those wishing to commemorate his memory, donations can be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Eric's generous spirit and his care for others.
Eric's legacy is one of love, laughter, and a life lived with an open heart. He has left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will continue to inspire joy and warmth in the hearts of those he touched.
