Ellen Mable (Dickman) Treiber was born in Sandusky, Ohio on March 21, 1936. She died on June 17, 2025, at her home in Willard, OH surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her husband, John Treiber. Ellen has three daughters who survive her: Linda Treiber, Canton, GA; June McGory (Mike Ervin), Collins, OH; and Diane Treiber (Paul Cox), Tulsa, OK. Ellen is also survived by her 4 grandchildren, Rachel Treiber, Randy Cox, Jason Cox, and Nick Ervin; 2 great-grandchildren, Parker and Jacob Cox.
Ellen graduated from Wakeman High School in 1954. She loved taking care of children and was a stay-at-home mom while her daughters were young. She also worked hard on the family farm in Collins. She was highly independent and thought for herself. Ellen also dedicated a significant portion of her life to caring for children in the foster care system, particularly those who were difficult to place.
Ellen enjoyed working outside the home as well, spending time as a training instructor at General Telephone and Electric, and as a Wal-Mart associate, among other jobs.
Ellen has 2 surviving sisters, Mary Stoll of Norwalk and Joanna Hitchcock of Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Russell Dickman and her brothers, Leon Dickman, Earl Dickman, Russell Dickman, and John Dickman.
Her burial will be held at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Memorial contributions may be directed to Kind Hearts Hospice, 70 Park Ave. W., 3rd Floor, Mansfield, OH 44902.
