Doyle Pierce

June 27, 1937 — August 14, 2025

Doyle Carl Pierce, 88, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, with his beloved family by his side. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Doyle's life was one marked by quiet strength, deep love, and unwavering kindness.

Born on June 27, 1937, in Trion, Georgia, to Carl and Willie (Jackson) Pierce, Doyle grew up with the values of hard work, faith, and family at the center of his life. He graduated from Georgia Tech-a source of lifelong pride and passion where he was also in ROTC. He remained a loyal Yellow Jackets fan throughout his life. After graduation he proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

Professionally, Doyle achieved great success, retiring as a Vice President in his career. Yet, it was his personal life and relationships that brought him the greatest joy.

Doyle found enduring love with his wife of 36 years, Tera Pierce. Their story was one of friendship, grace, and care. After the loss of his first wife, Tera-already a friend-offered comfort and companionship, sharing meals and walks in the park over many months. Their bond slowly grew into a beautiful partnership, marked by mutual respect and deep affection. Tera often recalled how proud she felt to call Doyle her husband, and he, too, cherished every moment they shared.

A gentle, good-humored man with a generous heart, Doyle was the kind of person who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Whether it was through a warm conversation, a shared laugh, or a quiet act of kindness, his love for others was evident in all he did.

Doyle is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Willie Pierce, and his son-in-law, Donald Huffman.

He leaves behind a legacy of love through his cherished family: his devoted wife, Tera Pierce; his step-children, Kathy and Michael; his grandson, David Kieth Huffman; and four great-grandchildren, Kingston, Courtlandt, Daisy, and Samson. He is also survived by his brother, James and wife Peggy; his sister, Elanore and husband Jimmy; along with many beloved relatives and a wide circle of dear friends. Each of them carries precious memories of Doyle's kindness, wisdom, and quiet strength.

Doyle's presence in our lives was a gift, and though he will be deeply missed, the impact of his love and the example of his life will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
