Dottie Faye Howard

November 26, 1948 — May 1, 2026

Dottie Faye Howard of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on May 1, 2026.

She was born on November 26, 1948, in Melville, Louisiana, to O'Neil Mayeaux (Myers)

and Minnie Myers and spent her later years in Tulsa, where she built a life rooted in

family, resilience, and showing up when it mattered.

Dottie lived in a way that was not about perfection, but about presence. She cared

deeply and managed more than she ever let on, and she did what needed to be done

for the people she loved.

She is survived by her children, Bob Caston and Neil Caston; her siblings, Larry Myers,

and Roger Myers; her grandchildren, Lauren Caston, Sydney Schuhmann, Andrew

Caston, Bradley Caston, Corbin Caston, Ellie Caston, and Cameron Caston; and her

great-grandchild, Maisy Caston. She was preceded in death by the love of her life,

Bobby Caston; her parents, O'Neil Mayeaux (Myers), and Minnie Myers; and her

siblings, Johnny Myers, Vertis Myers, Mack Myers, Dean Myers, Jean Mills, Florence

Debetaz, and Lena Brown.

Those who knew her will remember someone who could be counted on-steady when it

mattered, present when it counted, and there for the people in her life without needing

recognition.

She had a quiet, unmistakable generosity-if she ever heard you say you liked

something of hers; chances were you would be leaving with it.

For her family, it is simpler and more personal than that.

She was not perfect, but she was ours, and that is enough.

She will be missed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in Simmesport,

Louisiana, with additional details to be made available as the date approaches.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
