Donna Sue Martin

November 10, 1942 — April 14, 2026

Donna Sue Martin passed away on April 14, 2026, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, at the age of 83. She was born on November 10, 1942, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Woody and Linnie Eden.

Growing up, Donna was known to be ornery. She was the oldest of four daughters, and with that came the responsibility of helping raise her younger sisters. From an early age, she learned how to care for others, often putting their needs before her own. That sense of responsibility and compassion stayed with her throughout her life and likely played a meaningful role in shaping her path into nursing, where she dedicated herself to helping those in need.

From a young age, Donna also had a passion for horses. She loved running barrels and simply being around them whenever she could, finding both joy and freedom in those moments.

Her family often recalls a story from her younger days that perfectly captured her bold spirit. Donna's father was a police officer in the small town where they lived. One evening, while staying with a friend, she knew she was not supposed to be out walking around and was doing her best to avoid running into him while he was on patrol. While out, she and her friend were approached by other girls their age who began to bully them. Donna, being her ornery and determined self, decided to handle it in her own way. She and her friend found a live opossum, placed it in a pillowcase, and tossed it into the other girls' convertible. No one was harmed, but the message was clear-and the story remained a memorable part of her life. As it turned out, her father was on patrol just around the corner, but they were never caught.

Donna's ornery streak stuck with her even in adulthood. One thing she truly enjoyed was when her hands were cold-whether from the weather or holding something chilled-she would slip them up someone's shirt just to get a reaction, often catching family and friends by surprise.

Donna had one son, Randy, whom she loved more than anything and always made a priority in her life. Her greatest enjoyment was her family. Every September, when the Oklahoma City State Fair came to town, Donna made sure to take Randy each year. They also spent time together on trail rides in the Sulphur area, combining her love of horses with time spent with her son.

Donna loved being a mother, grandmother, and sister, and her family will remember her for her strong personality, sense of humor, and the stories she leaves behind.

She is survived by her son, Randy Huelster and wife Crystal; her grandchildren, Andi Britt-Huelster, Rachel Triggs, Dallas Huelster, Dakota Huelster, Heather Huelster, and Trinity Huelster; her great-grandchildren, Tre Triggs, Willa Triggs, and Khaya Triggs; and her sisters, Diana Gosser, Patricia Price, and Martha Colston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Woody and Linnie Eden.
