Donald Ray
Darragh
Nov 6, 1949 — Jul 22, 2026
Donald Ray Darragh, born November 6, 1949, to Monroe and Mary Ella (Long) Darragh in Okarche, Oklahoma, entered into eternal rest on July 22, 2026.
Donald was known for his love, steadiness, and the warmth he brought to every role he held. He was described as a great husband, a great father, and the best grandpa. To those who loved him, he was more than family-he was home.
Donald graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1968. Shortly after, he married his high school sweetheart, Marsha Barnard, on September 5, 1969, at just 19 years old. Their journey together began with devotion, and it grew into a partnership built on commitment and care.
Donald and Marsha both attended Oklahoma State University, but he took time away to learn and work on the railroad. He served as an engineer for ten years, carrying responsibility with pride. Eventually, he returned to OSU to complete his bachelor's degree in 1982, proof of the grit and determination that defined him.
Being a father and grandfather was the best title Donald ever carried. He was often the family's "Mr. Fix It," always ready to solve a problem, offer a steady hand, and turn trouble into something workable again. His tenacious spirit wasn't just something he had, it was something he shared, especially with his son and his grandchildren.
Donald enjoyed living out in the country, especially when his grandchildren came to visit. Peyton and Drew hold the sweetest memories of time spent with their grandpa: driving the go-cart, swinging on the swings, going swimming, and making s'mores. As much as they loved the adventures, they ultimately enjoyed the quiet comfort of watching TV together, wrapped up in his stories, his imagination, and the feeling of being cherished.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Mary Ella; his brother, Dennis; his sister, Mary Beth Darragh, and his grandson, Gabriel.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha; his son, Ray; his daughter-in-law, Chrystal; and their children, Peyton and Drew, and many nieces and nephews who called him Uncle Donnie.
He leaves behind memories that will forever be cherished by his family and by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Donald Ray Darragh will be deeply missed, and his love will live on in the hearts of everyone he touched.
