In Loving Memory of Delfino Gijon

Delfino Gijon passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family. He was 65 years old. Born on December 24, 1959, in Capulalpam de Mendez, Oaxaca, Mexico, Delfino was the beloved son of Nemecio Gijon and Honoria Hernandez.

At the age of 20, Delfino courageously left his hometown and moved to the United States, determined to build a better life. He first made his home in Los Angeles, California, where he worked tirelessly and built a successful window covering business - a remarkable accomplishment. His perseverance, hard work, and unwavering faith carried him through every challenge.

Four years ago, Delfino moved to Tulsa to be closer to his family, who were the center of his world. He was a devoted Catholic who faithfully recited the Rosary every afternoon at 3:00 p.m., grounding his days in prayer and gratitude.

Delfino had a joyful spirit that filled every room he entered. Known as the family jokester, he loved to make people laugh and had a special nickname for everyone. His sense of humor, optimism, and fearless outlook on life made him unforgettable to all who knew him. Even in difficult times, Delfino dreamed big, set new goals, and believed that anything was possible with faith and determination.

When he wasn't working or spending time with family, Delfino enjoyed listening to sports, boxing, and Mass on YouTube. His days were filled with faith, laughter, and love - the true measures of a life well lived.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nemecio Gijon and Honoria Hernandez.

Delfino leaves many loving memories to be cherished by his family: his son, Juan Gijon and wife Crystal Gijon; his daughter, Nereyda Gijon-Palacios and husband Jose Palacios, of Tulsa; his daughter, Vianey Gijon-Barrios and husband Elger Barrios, of Los Angeles, California; and his son, Roberto Nemecio Gijon and wife Malynn Montgomery-Gijon. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Elger Joaquin Barrios, Anevay Palacios, Kamilah Palacios, Alejandra Palacios, Evelynn Gijon, Lucas Delfino Gijon, Eliana Gijon, and Leo Gijon. Delfino is further survived by his siblings, Maura Gijon and Antonia Gijon, along with many other loving relatives and a host of dear friends.

Delfino's life was a testament to strength, faith, and family. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing him.

Delfino Gijon falleció pacíficamente el 22 de octubre del 2025, rodeado del amor de su familia. Tenía 65 años. Nació el 24 de diciembre de 1959 en Capulalpam de Méndez, Oaxaca, México, hijo querido de Nemecio Gijon y Honoria Hernández.

A los 20 años, Delfino tomó la valiente decisión de dejar su pueblo natal y emigrar a los Estados Unidos con el deseo de construir una vida mejor. Se estableció primero en Los Angeles, California, donde trabajó incansablemente y logró construir un negocio exitoso de cortinas y persianas, un logro extraordinario. Su perseverancia, fe inquebrantable y dedicación lo guiaron a través de cada desafío.

Fue precedido en muerte por sus padres, Nemecio Gijon y Honoria Hernández.

Delfino deja muchos recuerdos llenos de amor que serán atesorados por su familia: su hijo Juan Gijon y su esposa Crystal Gijon; su hija Nereyda Gijon-Palacios y su esposo José Palacios, de Tulsa; su hija Vianey Gijon-Barrios y su esposo Elger Barrios, de Los Ángeles, California; y su hijo Roberto Gijon y su esposa Malynn Montgomery-Gijon. También le sobreviven sus queridos nietos Elger Joaquin Barrios, Anevay Palacios, Kamilah Palacios, Alejandra Palacios, Evelynn Gijon, Lucas Delfino Gijon, Eliana Gijon y Leo Gijon. Además, le sobreviven sus hermanas Maura Gijon y Antonia Gijon, así como muchos otros familiares y amigos que lo amaron profundamente.
