Deborah Lynn Ellis-Palmgren, age 73, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, with her husband by her side.
Born on November 15, 1952, in Houston, Texas, Deborah was the daughter of David and Dorris (Bullard) Ellis. She grew up with a love of learning and a gift for words qualities that later shaped her life's work as a devoted educator. Deborah taught high school English at Spring High School in Houston, where she inspired countless students with her passion for literature and her unwavering belief in the power of education.
Deborah met the love of her life, Carl Palmgren, during a church Bible study in Houston. God truly brought them together. They were married on Christmas Eve, twenty-two years ago, in New Mexico a union anchored in faith, friendship, and deep devotion. Throughout their marriage, they journeyed through life with joy, living in Texas, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, Kansas, and eventually settling in the Tulsa area.
A talented and creative soul, Deborah enjoyed painting, drawing, traveling, and lovingly caring for Carl and their homes. Together, she and Carl once embarked on a 3,400-mile road trip over just three weeks, creating treasured memories and adventures they would reminisce about for years to come.
Deborah will be remembered for her sweet and gentle spirit, her kindness, warmth, and the genuine love she shared with everyone she met. Babies were naturally drawn to her peaceful presence, and she had a beautiful gift for making people feel seen and valued. She was faithful, friendly, and easy-going, always ready with a funny story or a thoughtful conversation. Deborah cherished perfect grammar, embraced life with self-awareness, and carried a spirit that brightened every room. To Carl, she was his angel-steadfast, loving, and deeply devoted.
She is preceded in death by her father, David Ellis; her mother, Doris Lindow; and her brothers, Danny and Eddie.
Deborah's memory will forever be cherished by her beloved husband, Carl Palmgren of Sand Springs; her brother Jimmy and his wife Angie; her brother Kelly and his wife; her sister; her children Donna, Christina, Eric, and Carl IV; her grandchildren Kelton, Spencer, Kolton, JP; her three great-granddaughters; along with many other dear relatives and a host of friends whose lives were touched by her kindness. Deborah will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
