Services to honor and celebrate the life of David James Farthing will be 2:00pm Friday, September 24, 2021 at the Crossroads Church in Jenks, OK with Pastor Doug Carey officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa, OK. David went to his heavenly home on Monday, September 20, 2021, he was 44 years old.
David graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma with a Masters in Clinical Social Work. He has worked as a hospice social worker for the last 13 years. He worked for St. John's and for St. Francis Hospice's. David was the recipient of the 2015 Social Worker of the Year Award. David had a passion of working with the senior population, and sometimes worked with children on hospice. Throughout his career, he touched many lives with his compassion, faith, and spiritual gifts.
When David wasn't fishing, he was practicing his casting in the backyard. He enjoyed watching sports, especially OU Football Games. He had a love of fish and aquascaping his aquariums. He also enjoyed playing the Native American Flute. He often played the flute at hospice patient remembrance services. He also complied a Creek Hymnal and had a beautiful singing voice.
Those he leaves to cherish his memory are his wife Laura Peters Farthing and his mother, Helen Duncan. niece, Summer Potter and nephew, Spenser Farthing.
David would want us to remember his love for God family and friends. His life was a inspiring testimony of his faith and living out biblical principals. David said in a text message to Laura and friends during his last days, "Glory Hallelujah, it will be a good thing and we all will be together again when God says so!" "God is Good." "I'm going to trust in God whatever is next." "If it's my time to go to my Heavenly Home, it will be glorious!" David displayed strength and stood strong in his faith and said, " he was ready for whatever the Lord had in store for him. He felt at peace."
