In Loving Memory of David Earl Druschel

David Earl Druschel, a man of resilience and unwavering spirit, left this world on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, in Mounds, Oklahoma, at the age of 69. He was born on August 14, 1954, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to his devoted parents, Harry and Loretta Druschel.

David's early years were spent on the family farm, where he worked alongside his loved ones to provide produce and flowers to the community of New Castle and its surroundings.

In 1972, David graduated from Shenango High School in New Castle, PA, setting the stage for a long and accomplished career as a professional Truck Driver. Over the course of more than four decades, he logged countless miles on the open road, surpassing over 2 MILLION miles in his career. In the later years of his career, he took on the role of instructor, sharing his knowledge and experience with aspiring truck drivers before retiring in 2016.

Beyond his career, David had a passion for the outdoors. He found solace and excitement in hunting and working with wood, crafting many beautiful creations with his skilled hands.

David faced significant health challenges in his later years, battling heart failure, cancer, and various other illnesses since 2017. Through it all, he demonstrated remarkable strength and determination.

David was a father to three children from previous marriages: Raquel, Dave E. Druschel Jr., and Beth Ann DeFrank, who is married to Tony. In 2007, he married Tammy Lee Thompson, becoming a beloved stepfather to her four children: Katrina Morgan and husband Joe, Amanda Coleman and fiance Jay, Allan Coleman, and Karyn Coleman and fiance Elysha.

His true joy in life was found in his role as a grandparent and great-grandparent. David cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren: Sierra Druschel, Skylar Druschel, Little Tony DeFrank, Britnie McCoy, Cody McCoy, Atlas Coleman, and great-grandchildren Datlin McCoy and bonus grand Nathan Getz Greyson McGrew.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Loretta Druschel. He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Druschel, his sister, Elain Confer, his brothers, Robert Druschel and wife Clara of New Castle, Pennsylvania, and Richard Druschel and wife Pauline of Brighton, Michigan, along with several children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of cherished friends.

Saying goodbye to David is a heart-wrenching task, as his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

It's so hard to say goodbye.
