Danny Kay Reich Sr. a beloved husband, son, father, grandfather, and uncle went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 4:09pm. Born on June 2, 1947 to Florence and Jess Reich in Enid, OK.
Danny lived 76 years that were full of family, friends, laughter, and accomplishments. A year after graduating from Nowata High School in 1965, Danny enlisted in the Air Force in 1966. He served as a Communications Tech and was stationed in Japan, Vietnam, Altus, OK, New Jersey, California, and Montana. He then worked for the US. Postal Service and retired as a mail clerk He went on to receive his B.A from the University of Tulsa. Out of the love for his community, he also served as the Mayor of Kellyville and a member of the Kellyville school board.
Danny took great pride and joy in his family. In 1967 he married Caroline Smith in Mississippi and together they had three children, Danny Jr, Dana and Dara.
One thing that Danny will always be remembered for is his relationship and trust in the Lord. In the summer of 1969, at Cooper Ave. Baptist Church in California, Danny proclaimed his faith in the Lord and continued to be a devoted follower. He also served as the spiritual leader in his church and family, encouraging them to consistently study the Bible.
Danny is survived by his wife, Caroline Reich: children, Danny Kay Reich Jr and wife Angelia; Dana Orcutt and husband James; and Dara McMillin and husband Michael. Grandchildren: Kiera McMillin, Danny Kay Reich III, Cade Orcutt, Andrew Reich, Nathan Orcutt, Easton McMillin, Elliana McMillin, Elijah McMillin, Celia Reich, and Kalden McMillin. Danny was the youngest of 11 children and has numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Danny's life will be held at Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service (1329 East 151st Street, Glenpool, OK 74033). The service will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 3rd with a reception following.
