Craig Mosquito

October 7, 1953 — March 31, 2026

Mounds

Craig Mosquito, 72, beloved spouse, father, son, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, was called to his eternal resting place on March 31, 2026. He was born on October 7, 1953, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Willie and Lena Mosquito.

Craig lived a life centered on love, family, and community. He shared a devoted and lasting marriage with his beloved spouse, Debra Mosquito, whom he met at Oklahoma State University. They were united in marriage on May 11, 1974 building a life full of cherished memories, laughter, and unwavering companionship.

He was a proud and loving father to his daughter, Shanhdea McIntosh and her husband Anthony McIntosh, and to his sons Jacob and Jayce. Craig's greatest joy came from his growing family. He was a deeply devoted grandfather to Alex, Michaela, Jalen, Jerean, Jaxon, Gracie, Jarod Jr., Zoe, Trajan, Jayce Jr., Boston, Amelia, Mya, Emily, Jamison, and Jadyn, and a proud great-grandfather to Nakota and Elias. He also leaves behind his brother, Rex Mosquito and wife Robbie, and his sister, Terri Kane and husband Charlie, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Lena Mosquito; his beloved son, Jarod Mosquito; his brother, Ira Mosquito; and his in-laws, Mary and Tom Shirley.

A proud graduate of Liberty Mounds High School, Class of 1971, Craig was an athlete at heart. He played baseball, basketball, and football during his school years and continued his love of sports through fast-pitch softball. A lifelong supporter of Oklahoma State University, he cheered faithfully for his team and carried that same enthusiasm into every game he attended for his children and grandchildren.

Craig found great fulfillment in coaching all four of his children in sports, teaching them not only how to play, but how to compete with heart and integrity. Whether it was playing catch in the backyard, attending games, or offering encouragement from the sidelines, he was always present and fully invested in the lives of those he loved.

He enjoyed life's simple pleasures-listening to music, singing and dancing, sharing stories, and spending quiet evenings sitting by a fire. Craig took special joy in planting flowers for Debra, a reflection of his thoughtful and caring nature. He loved taking walks around the town of Mounds, a place he knew so well and held close to his heart.

Known for his warm personality, Craig was kind, social, and never had a mean word for anyone. Even in serious moments, he could be counted on to bring light with a well-timed joke. He stayed closely connected with family and friends, often on the phone, sharing stories, checking in, or capturing memories through photos and videos. He had a deep love for people, and his presence brought comfort, laughter, and a sense of belonging to those around him.

Above all, Craig's life was defined by his love for his family. His legacy is one of devotion, kindness, humor, and a heart that never stopped giving. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
