Charlotte Lanelle Curry

April 28, 1951 — May 22, 2023

Charlotte Lanelle Page Curry, 72, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Monday, May 22, 2023. She was born April 28, 1951, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, to her parents, Jesse John Page and Juanita Lucille Nelson Page. In 1971, she married the love of her life, David Wayne Curry and they shared over 52 years together.

Charlotte began her life in Wewoka where her grandparents, Roy and Jewel Nelson, also lived. As their first grandchild, Roy and Jewel adored her! Throughout her school career at Wewoka schools, she excelled and finished at the top of her class. She was a member of the Mixed Chorus, speech contests, the Future Homemakers of America, Pep Club, Library Club, the National Honor Society, and the Oklahoma Honor Society. She was chosen to sing in the Oklahoma All-State Chorus and the Senior Honor Choir of East Texas State University at Commerce, Texas.

In the fall of 1969, she moved to Tulsa to attend Oral Roberts University as a vocal music student. Again, she excelled, but the Chamber Singers soon became her favorite class. During her sophomore year, a new student from Arizona, David Curry, joined the Chamber Singers, and they soon fell in love and were married in April of 1971. From that point on, her main focus was to meet the needs of her family. In December of 1972, they were thrilled to welcome Adam Wayne, and six years later in July of 1978, their sweet Adrienne Rae was born.

Upon moving back to Tulsa from Houston in 1983, David and Charlotte auditioned for the Tulsa Opera Chorus, which became the perfect outlet for their vocal talents. Charlotte eventually joined the staff at Tulsa Opera and has enjoyed more than 25 years of helping staff, patrons and singers from all over the world!

On April 8, 2003, Ravon Lee Dean Curry, their precious grandson, was born. Their lives were forever changed by his loving personality and caring heart. Tragically, at 16 years of age, he prematurely left this world, and their hearts were broken. What a joy it must have been for Charlotte to see him once again!

Throughout her life, her Lord Jesus Christ has always been her anchor in the midst of the storms. Her walk was not always easy, but she remained steadfastly devoted to her faith and believed the Lord was walking beside her every step of the way. On Monday, May 22, she walked into His loving arms with no more pain, no more tears, no more death, only peace forevermore.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, David Wayne Curry, her children, Adam Wayne Curry and Adrienne Rae Curry; brother, Gary Dean Page (Gayle), nephew, Randall Page (Jennifer); stepmother, Sharon Page, and stepsister, Penny Ogbonna; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her grandson, Ravon Lee Dean Curry.
