Charles Neil Buckman

Charles "Chuck" Neil Buckman passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the age of 86.

Chuck was born on January 26, 1940, in Arkansas, to Odell and Mary (Tygart) Buckman. He attended Wichita High School and later continued his education by attending college for a couple of years.

Chuck built a varied career that reflected his strong work ethic and willingness to take on new opportunities. In his early working years, he worked as a residential house painter and later in paint sales, an industry he truly enjoyed. Chuck eventually transitioned into pipeline coating inspection and became NACE certified, spending the last 20 years of his career working in the field.

Chuck was a true people person. He had a remarkable ability to walk into a room, remember everyone, and make people feel as though they mattered. He enjoyed visiting, building friendships, and simply being around others. His genuine interest in people was one of the qualities that made him so memorable to those who knew him.

One of Chuck's greatest joys was horseback riding, especially when he could share that passion with his son and grandson. They would spend many, many hours a week together riding horses and traveling everywhere they could on horseback. Those countless hours in the saddle created treasured memories and represented so much of what Chuck loved-being outdoors, riding, and spending meaningful time with his family.

He was a baptized believer and faithful disciple of our Lord, Jesus Christ, and actively participated in his local church congregation in ministering to others. He lived his faith until the end looking forward to the eternal rest promised to all who believe and obey.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Mary Buckman; his first wife, Alice Ann Buckman; his second wife, Frances Walker Buckman; and his youngest son, Jeffrey "Jeff" Buckman.

Chuck leaves many loving memories with his son, Steve Buckman and his daughter-in-law, Linda Buckman, his grandson, Matt Buckman, and his daughter-in-law, Dale Buckman Nuaman, the wife of Jeff.

He has three nieces and nephews, Ann Roache and husband John, Sarah Taylor and husband Jerry, and David Minchew and his wife, Jan.

Chuck has one surviving cousin, Janine "Jeannie" Tygart Villers.

Through his marriage to Frances, he happily welcomed her sons into his family, Steve Walker and wife Judy, Brian Walker and wife Jeannie, Todd Walker and wife Jana, and a host of grandchildren along with Frances' sister, Sharon and husband Carl, and many other loving relatives, treasured friends, and all those whose lives were touched by his friendship and outgoing personality.

A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Charles "Chuck" Neil Buckman will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, 1329 East 151st Street South, Glenpool, Oklahoma. The family invites everyone to remain following the service for a reception with light refreshments in the Schaudt Glenpool-Bixby Reception Room.
