Charles M. E. Brashers, 75, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on April 12, 2026, just days before his 76th birthday.
Born on April 14, 1950, in Germany to Jesse and Velma Brashers, Charles lived a life defined by adventure, passion, and a deep love for the people and experiences that filled his years. His parents preceded him in death, as did his son, Michael E. Brashers.
Charles was truly one of a kind-an extraordinary man with a fearless spirit and a storyteller's soul. Known by many as the best storyteller around, he had a way of drawing people in, leaving them laughing, captivated, and always wanting more. A natural daredevil, he embraced life fully, whether he was hunting in the great outdoors, skiing down mountain slopes, or casting a line into the deep blue on a fishing trip.
He was an avid golfer, a devoted cigar aficionado, and a lover of the open air. Charles found joy in the simple pleasures-time spent at the lake, exploring the mountains of Colorado, taking in the beauty of Lake Tahoe, strolling the streets of San Francisco, or traveling throughout Mexico and beyond. A true world traveler, he believed life was meant to be experienced.
At home, Charles shared a special passion for cooking, a craft he lovingly learned and perfected alongside his beloved wife. He was especially proud of the life they built together. In August, Charles and his wife, Rose Mary (Rollman) Brashers, would have celebrated 57 years of marriage-a testament to a deep and enduring love.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Rose Mary Brashers; his son, Charles W. Brashers and wife Holly; and his grandson, Caleb Williams, who will carry forward his legacy of adventure and spirit.
Charles also leaves behind his cherished dog, Daisy, along with countless friends and loved ones who will forever remember his larger-than-life personality, his endless stories, and the warmth he brought into every room.
His life was rich with experience, laughter, and love-well lived and deeply felt. He will be missed beyond measure, but his stories, his spirit, and his love for life will live on in all who knew him.
