Buck Herron

October 26, 1940 — September 15, 2025

Buck J. Herron, an extraordinary artist whose talent left an indelible mark on all who knew him, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born October 26, 1940, in Checotah, Oklahoma, to Clarance and Nellie Herron.

Buck lived a life as colorful and detailed as the breathtaking works of art he created. A true master of many mediums, he could bring beauty to life through pencil sketches, painting, sculpture, woodwork, and even classic car restoration. His remarkable gifts were not only admired but also displayed for the community, including his well-known sculpture on Riverside in Tulsa. Each creation bore his heart and soul, a reflection of his stunning vision and skill.

Before his career as an artist, Buck served his country with honor as a Marine helicopter pilot and medevac in Vietnam. His courage in service was matched only by his passion for life and his love for people.

Buck's humor was as sharp as his artistic eye-he was a joker with a quick wit, always ready with a story or a laugh. Beyond his immense talent, those who knew him will remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who gave so much of himself to those around him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Sue Orr-Herron; his children, Brad Herron, Kim Orr, Jeff Orr, and Melanie Botts; and his grandchildren, Devon, Rain, Lilly, Bryce, Grace, Ashton, and Jeffrey.

Buck leaves behind a legacy not only of art but of love, laughter, and the reminder to live life with creativity and joy.
