In Loving Memory of Brian E. Collum

Brian E. Collum passed away on October 13, 2026, in Navarre, Florida at the age of 61 years old. Born on December 18, 1964, in Newfoundland, Canada, Brian lived a life defined by service and an unwavering love for his family.

A devoted husband, father, and friend, Brian was a man whose presence could fill a room. He possessed a quick wit, an unforgettable laugh, and a gift for making those around him feel at ease. Whether sharing a story or simply enjoying a conversation over a cold beverage, Brian had a way of leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate to know him.

Brian proudly served his country in the United States Army and dedicated almost 28 years of his life to the Tulsa Police Department, retiring with the rank of Sergeant. Throughout his career, he demonstrated an enduring commitment to protecting and serving his community. His years in law enforcement were a testament to his character and the sacrifices he made for others.

Brian spent his short retirement supporting military veterans and their families, helping over 250 veterans receive 100% disability ratings and over 1,000 veterans receive benefits for themselves and their families. He has helped veterans not only in the United States, but in South America, Ireland, and many other areas.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Brian's greatest legacy was the love he had for his family as a source of wisdom, laughter, encouragement, and unconditional support. He celebrated the successes of those he loved, stood beside them during difficult times, and never lost his ability to find humor in life's everyday moments.

To those who knew him best, Brian was far more than his accomplishments or the titles he held. He was a storyteller, history buff, confidant, protector, and a great friend. He was the familiar voice on the other end of the telephone, the laughter that could brighten an ordinary day, and the steady presence his loved ones knew they could always count on.

Although his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of those who loved him, Brian's memory will live on through the stories he told, the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the countless lives he touched.

His family, friends, fellow officers, veterans, and all who had the privilege of knowing him will remember him with profound love, deep gratitude, and an enduring sense of pride.

He is survived by his wife, Cristy, of 34 years, and his three children: Son Grady Collum and his wife Jaymie; Son Eli Collum and his wife Kayely; Daughter Lily Collum; Brother Gary L. Collum; sister Nikki Collum Serbin; sister Danielle Woller; and nephew Gary G. Collum.

He is preceded in death by; father Gene Collum; mother Agatha Hammes; in-laws Alton R. and Carol Smith; sister Barbara Mahoney; and best friend Timothy Pike.

His watch has ended, but his legacy will endure.

"Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them, do not. Miss them, do not. Attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed, that is." - Yoda, Revenge of the Sith.
