With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Bonnie Sue Owens, age 97, on June 25, 2025. Bonnie passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering love.
Born on September 29, 1927, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bonnie was the cherished daughter of Jesse and Ada Phillips. She was the heart and soul of her family, and for 70 wonderful years, she shared a devoted marriage with her beloved husband, Charles Owens. Their love was an inspiration-steady, selfless, and strong.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles, her parents, Jesse and Ada, two brothers, and four sisters. Though her absence leaves a deep ache in our hearts, her life leaves behind a rich tapestry of love that will never fade.
She is survived by her son, Philip Owens and wife Susan; daughters, Vicki Crofford and husband Patrick, and Pam Norwood and husband Ricky; brother-in-law Arley Owens; 14 adored grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her dearly.
Bonnie's love for her family was the center of her world. She had a quiet strength and a gentle spirit that brought comfort to everyone around her. She never asked for anything, always gave of herself, and never had a harsh word for anyone. She filled her days with simple joys-watching NASCAR, bowling, working crosswords, journaling, and, with a playful heart, checking up on her family with Life360.
Her wisdom often came wrapped in humor and warmth. She warned us, "Never go out with wet hair or you'll get pneumonia," and lovingly joked, "If you drive too fast, I'll hang your tires up on the garage wall." And when life got tough, her daughter Pam would lovingly remind her, "Tuffin up, buttercup."
Bonnie was peaceful, faithful, and full of love. She was the steady light in her family's life, a constant source of grace, and a reminder of all that is good and pure in this world. To be loved by her was one of life's greatest gifts.
Services to celebrate Bonnie's life have been entrusted to Schaudt Funeral Service. Friends and family may share condolences and memories at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com.
Our hearts are heavy, but our love for her is eternal. We will carry her spirit with us, always
