Our Lord and Savior called our beloved mother, Bobbie Jean Williams, to eternal rest on Friday, August 21, 2026. She passed peacefully at home in Renton, Washington, surrounded by the comfort and love of her family.

Bobbie Jean was born on November 22, 1930, in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, to Sam and Emma (Adams) Williams. As the last surviving member of her immediate family, she now takes her place among those who went before her.

She attended Pleasant Hill Elementary and Middle School and Wheatley High School in Beggs, Oklahoma. During her early years, Bobbie Jean worked as an elevator operator at a hotel in Tulsa.

Bobbie Jean later moved to Wichita, Kansas, where she centered her life around raising her children, caring for her grandchildren, and welcoming extended family into her home and heart. Her devotion to family was deeply rooted in her faith. While living in Wichita, she was a member of Progressive Baptist Church and Glenville Bible Baptist Church.

Determined to build a better life for her family and fulfill a personal dream of continuing her education, Bobbie Jean returned to school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 1980. She dedicated her career to caring for others and retired from St. Joseph Hospital in 1995.

Throughout her life, Bobbie Jean took great joy in passing along the traditions and skills she had learned from her mother and siblings. She taught her children the art of quiltmaking, shared the foods and cooking traditions of the old Creek ways, and continually encouraged her family to grow, learn, and enjoy life.

Above all, Bobbie Jean's greatest gift was her faith. Throughout her long and meaningful life, she faithfully shared her love for the Lord and introduced others to the teachings and saving grace of Jesus Christ. Her faith guided the way she lived, the way she loved her family, and the way she cared for others.

At the age of 80, Bobbie Jean began another chapter of her life when she relocated to Renton, Washington, to be near one of her daughters. Fiercely independent and always wanting a place of her own, she made her home at Houser Terrace Senior Apartments. There, she formed many friendships, continued learning new skills, joined a walking group, and enthusiastically participated in community activities. She also became part of the New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church family.

In 2019, Bobbie Jean moved into the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and John, where they continued to share the love, happiness, and joy God had entrusted to their family. Her devotion to family never diminished. Even well into her later years, Bobbie Jean continued traveling to visit loved ones in Kansas, Oklahoma, Georgia, Virginia, and Indiana, making her final family travels in December 2025.

Bobbie Jean leaves behind a remarkable family legacy and generations who were blessed by her love, wisdom, strength, and faith.

She is survived by her beloved children, Ray Hester Jr. (the late Gwen), Bobby Williams (Patricia), Ramona Hawkins, Atrondra Williams, Sharon Goodwin (Jerry), Marcia Vian (John), Lesa Newby (the late Darnell), and Emmitt Williams (Noelle).

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Terry Williams, Larry Williams (Diane), Ray Hester III (Victoria), Julianne Tajuba, Letitia Tajuba, Nikita Tajuba, Gabriel Parker (Kasey), Orlando Williams, and Shavonda Hester. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Juan Hester.

Her legacy continues through 20 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, cherished friends, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness and faith.

Bobbie Jean lived a long and extraordinary life centered on faith, family, perseverance, and service to others. The lessons she taught, the traditions she preserved, and most importantly, the faith she shared will continue through the generations that follow her.

A visitation for Bobbie Jean Williams will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service & Cremation Care Centers, 1329 E. 151st Street South, Glenpool, Oklahoma 74033.

A celebration of Bobbie Jean's life will begin at 10:00 a.m., immediately following the visitation.

Bobbie Jean will be laid to rest at Adams Family Cemetery #2 in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma.
