Billy Gerald Ballard

August 22, 1944 — April 8, 2018

Billy Gerald Ballard passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018. He was born on August 22, 1944 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He graduated from Daniel Webster high school in 1962 and married Jerry Ann McIntosh in 1964. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years, serving as a letter carrier and then a maintenance worker. He received a letter of commendation from President Richard Nixon for saving a young child who was being attacked by a dog on his mail route.

Bill loved taking cross-country motorcycle trips, vacations with his family, and flying his ultralight airplane. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and his greatest joy in life was enjoying his grandchildren and watching them grow up. Bill loved nature and being outdoors and his family plans to return him to the place that he loved the most- the family farm.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, T.J. and Faye Ballard, and his sister Dorothy Tuck. He is survived by his sister, Joyce Hardin; wife, Jerry; son Randy Ballard; daughter Tosha Ballard Sharpe and husband Chris; and grandchildren Daniel Ballard, Andrew Ballard, Grace Sharpe and Willow Sharpe.
