Billy Jean Washington, age 63 passed away Sunday, November 6, 2005 at her Glenpool residence surrounded by her loving family members.
Billy Jean was born May 16, 1942 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Mrs. Anna (Falls) Delaware and Ben Delaware. Reverend Robert Falls, her uncle was actively involved during her youth in Stroud, Oklahoma. She graduated from Stroud High School in 1959 and attended a business school. Billy Jean retired from Guaranty Abstract where she held a typist position. She married the love of her life, Wiley Washington on March 2, 1963 and resided in Glenpool for the past 30 years moving from Tulsa. Mrs. Washington was a member of First Indian Baptist Church, Cushing, Oklahoma.
Billy Jean Washington received great joy playing with her grandchildren, doing crossword puzzles and was an avid University of Tulsa fan. She will be remembered most for her great sense of humor.
Mrs. Washington was preceded in death by her mother: Anna Delaware; her two brothers: Bennie and Norman Delaware and her uncle, Robert Falls.
She is survived by her husband, Wiley Washington of the home; daughters: Teresa Runnels and husband, Jack, Glenpool; Peggy Fox and husband, Justin, Bixby; sister: Irene Delaware, Cushing; sister: Jane Stephens and husband, Gary, Cushing; brother: Bob Delaware and wife, Sharon, Arizona; 3 grandchildren: Zoe, Nina and Sadie Fox of Bixby.
A wake service will be held on Tuesday, November 8th at 7:00 p.m. at New Joy Baptist Church, Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, November 9th at 1:00 p.m. First Indian Baptist Church, 1034 E. Walnut, Cushing, Oklahoma.
