Bill E. Chambers

June 16, 1945 — May 7, 2022

Bill E. Chambers III passed away with loving family by his side on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the age of 76.

Bill was born on June 16, 1945 to his parents, Bill and Lorraine (Gossett) Chambers, Jr. in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In his early life, Bill served in the United States Air Force for a total of 8 years, both overseas and on United States soil. After returning from his diligent service he began working as an automotive mechanic, a career which he would continue throughout his lifetime.

In 1971 he married the love of his life, Kay Holmes, on the beautiful day of April 6th. They had their children, Cynthia, BJ, and Krystle in the years to follow.

Although quiet and contemplative, Bill always kept himself busy. There was never a still hand or broken anything when he was around. With a heart of steady love, he cared for his wife and their children, later becoming the joyful Papa known to many.

In recent years Bill became a homebody and enjoyed reading, watching TV, and spending time with his grandchildren. He had few nicknames, but the one that brings most joy is Bozo, a familiar nickname shared with his grandson, William.

At a young age he lost his mom, Lorraine Gossett, but gained another by the name of Betty Castleberry who went on to be a light in his life. As time went on he lost his father, Bill Chambers, and later in life said farewell to Betty Castleberry.

Bill is also preceded in passing by his sisters, Sharon Darlene Hitchcock and Jackie Lee Antle, as well as his brothers James Hitchcock and Alan Chambers.

Left in the wake of his absence is his dearly beloved Kay and their children, Cynthia (Brain) Testa, BJ (Amber) Chambers, and Krystle (William) Hawkins. Also missing him are his many grandchildren, Amelia and Fallon Testa; Isaac, Natalee, and Alexis Chambers; Madey and William (Bozo) Hawkins. Bill also leaves behind his siblings, Ruth Bowers, Sandy Boisseau, Gary Hitchcock, and Janet Males.
