Beverly Ann Lunn Young, beloved wife, businesswoman, philanthropist, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 4, 2026, surrounded by close family and friends. She was 85 years old.
Born on September 19, 1940, in Nashville, Tennessee, Beverly was the daughter of Wallace Edward ("Eddie") Lunn Sr. and Gladys Hunter Lunn. She attended Hillsboro High School before enrolling at the University of Oklahoma, where she was a proud member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.
It was at the University of Oklahoma that Beverly met the love of her life, Warren Franklin Young. Their story began memorably during her freshman year when Warren accidentally bumped her with his car while pulling away from the Delta Delta Delta house. What could have been an unfortunate encounter became the beginning of a lifelong partnership. The two married in 1959 and shared a remarkable marriage marked by devotion, adventure, and shared purpose.
Together, Beverly and Warren built a successful oil and gas exploration and production business, serving as founders and principals of Baytide Petroleum. In addition, Beverly got her securities licenses and launched Baytide Securities. Beverly's entrepreneurial spirit, intelligence, and determination contributed significantly to the growth and success of their ventures.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Beverly was deeply committed to serving her community. In her younger years, she was an active member of the Junior League of Tulsa and devoted considerable time and resources to raising awareness and support for Alzheimer's research, a cause that remained close to her heart throughout her life.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. As a devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Beverly faithfully served on the Altar Guild for several years. Her generosity, hospitality, and steadfast faith touched countless lives.
Beverly and Warren built a rich and meaningful life together filled with friendship, service, and extensive travel. They explored the world side by side, creating treasured memories and lasting relationships wherever they went.
Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Warren Franklin Young; her father, Wallace Edward Lunn Sr.; her mother, Gladys Hunter Lunn; her sister; and her brother.
She will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering faith, entrepreneurial vision, and free spirit. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched, the causes she championed, and the example she set for all who knew her.
