Beverly Long

June 27, 1949 — October 1, 2023

Beverly Long, a devoted daughter, proud veteran, and cherished member of the Muskogee, Oklahoma community, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the age of 74. She was born on June 27, 1949, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to her parents, Harry and Mulsey (Tarpalechee) Long.

Beverly's life was marked by a profound commitment to her country and an unwavering sense of duty. She proudly served in the United States Marines, demonstrating bravery and dedication throughout her military career. Her service exemplified the values of honor, courage, and commitment that she held dear. Beverly also worked at the DMV for many years in the registration department.

Beverly was loved by all, and those who knew her, knew her favorites: Star Wars movies, football, especially OU, teddy bears, ice cream, Tom Selleck, George Strait and her great-niece, Rayne Miske. Sister and Rayne, along with her brother Wotko, not only shared a special bond, but they all shared the same birthday, June 27. She always made your birthday special by calling you and singing happy birthday. She loved her family deeply, and loved spending time with family, especially her cousins and church family. We all loved spending time with her, just to be around her brought lots of laughs and comfort. There is no one like her, and she is going to be greatly missed. Richard described her perfectly; she was the best of all of us. Beverly was the best sister, aunt, cousin, and momma.

Beverly is survived by her beloved son, Richard Long of Muskogee, OK, her brothers Wotko Long of Muskogee, OK, Gary and Joann Miles-Long of Laveen, Arizona and her nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She is being welcomed home by her parents Harry and Mulsey Long, her brothers Larry and Taylor Long, her sister Starr Long and her nieces Georgina Long and Bobbie Walston.
