Betty Ann Thompson

May 18, 1937 — Oct 30, 2026

Betty Ann (Heiliger) Thompson was born in 1937 in Clinton, OK. The daughter of Albert "Buster" Heiliger and F. Imogene Heiliger.

As a child, the family moved to Tulsa, OK where she became involved in the youth activities at First Baptist Church of Tulsa. It was there, at nine years old, that she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She graduated from Central High School and attended Oklahoma Baptist University. Her college career was ultimately cut short by the untimely death of her beloved father.

Back in Tulsa, she got a job with Braniff airlines which gave her some lifelong friends. The Braniff girls remained close and often met for lunch, even into the early 2000's. It was also during her time at the airline that she met Charles, who worked for American Airlines. The couple joined together in marriage on April 27, 1960. A job change brought them to Bartlesville where their only child, Brad, was born.

A few years later, the family returned to Tulsa where they lived out their lives. Betty & Charles' time in Tulsa was mostly spent at the Tulsa Ice Oilers hockey team as fans. The Tulsa Oilers community made a welcome second home for the couple. In 1976, the family moved to their final home in south Tulsa. This brought them into the Jenks School district where they could be found in the stands throughout Brad's school years.

In the early 1980's, they joined Boston Avenue United Methodist Church. In 1987, Charles & Betty welcomed their daughter-in-law, Sandra, into their lives. Brad and Sandra became the center of their world with new adventures and fun. In 1992 their granddaughter, Samantha, was born and quickly became the most precious girl in the world to them. Betty & Charles stayed invested in all of Samantha's activities and athletics throughout her life. Grandma and Papa were always there for their little girl.

Charles and Betty enjoyed traveling around the US in their 60s and 70's and it was during this time they began taking cruises with their family. In 2018 Charles and Betty welcomed another member of the family as Samantha married her husband, Trevor Pedigo. In January of 2023, Betty & Charles welcomed their 1st Great Granddaughter, Charley Lynn Pedigo into the world. Charles would pass away in November of 2023, and Betty began an active senior life first at Covenant Living and then Beehive Homes of Glenpool. In August of 2025 Betty welcomed her 2nd Great Granddaughter, Scottie Jo Pedigo.
