Barbara Jean Gibson

Services to honor and celebrate the life of Barbara Jean Gibson will be 12:00 PM on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Assurance Church (6570 W. 176th St. South) in Mounds,OK with burial to follow at Osage Cemetery in Osage, OK. A visitation is planned for Thursday evening from 5:00-8:00PM at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service. Barbara passed from this life at her residence in Mounds, OK, she was 79.


Barbara Jean Gibson was born on September 10, 1942 in Cleveland, OK to Lenrow and Ava Byrom. Barbara was a minister, musician, and songwriter. She never wavered in her faith; therefore the family always knew who to go to when they needed spiritual guidance.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents, and three of her siblings: Jimmy, Charlie, and Jackie.

She is survived by her husband, James; her son, Matthew and wife, Tracy, of Mounds; stepchildren, Amy Coulter and husband, Harold, of Osage, John Gibson and wife, Tonya, of Berryhill, Joe Gibson and wife, Audrey, of Tulsa; siblings Shirley, Sandra, Carol Ann, Mary, Peggy, Debra, Sherry, and Kenny; 16 grandkids; 12 great-grandkids; and many nieces and nephews.
