Anna Arnavay Hunnicutt

Anna Arnavay Hunnicutt, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the age of 96.

Arnavay was born on July 17, 1930,to Dan and Daisy (Smithson) Shook.

She met the love of her life, Roy Hunnicutt, and the two were married on November 26, 1949, in Van Buren, Arkansas. Together, Arnavay and Roy built a life centered around their family and faith. They were longtime members of First Baptist Church of Okmulgee, where their church family was an important part of their lives.

Arnavay devoted herself to her home and family as a homemaker. Throughout her life, she found great purpose in caring for those she loved alongside her husband Roy as they raised their two children, Stephen and Pamela.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hunnicutt; her father, Dan Shook; and her mother, Daisy Shook.

Arnavay leaves many loving memories with her son, Stephen Hunnicutt; daughter, Pamela Sewell; grandson Michael Hunnicutt, brother, Harley Shook; along with other loving relatives and a host of friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Schaudt Okmulgee Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor Brayden Buss officiating. A graveside service will follow at Okmulgee Cemetery.
