Anecia Sakiestewa

October 15, 1971 — January 9, 2024

  • Anecia Ann (Rabbit) Sakiestewa was born on October 15, 1971, to Lorene Rabbit in Claremore, OK. She passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at the age of 52. Although Anecia spent the last year of her life managing her illness, she was committed to living her life with love, laughter, and a deep connection with her family. Anecia graduated from Morris High School (Morris, OK) and Green Country Technology Center (Okmulgee, OK) with her credentials for Certified Nurse Aide and Phlebotomy. Anecia began her career as a CNA in the Home Health field for many years. She always had patience, and compassion and enjoyed caring for others during their time of need within the Okmulgee County area. Anecia took great pride in being able to contribute back to her tribal community as a Muscogee (Creek) Citizen. Anecia's faith was central to her daily life. She was baptized at Okmulgee Indian Baptist Church at a young age and rededicated her life to Indian Fellowship Church where she was a member. She often spent time with family visiting churches, and fellowshipping. Anecia's most enjoyable moments were spending time with her beloved son Stephen who often took her shopping and out to eat. Santino who would play his piano, and Marco who was always by her side.

Anesia is preceded in death by grandparents Edmond and Bertha Lee (Chalakee) Rabbit and her sister Misty Renee (Bunner) Kahbeah. Left to cherish her memories are her husband Victor Sakiestewa, and beloved sons Steven Neal Rabbit, Santino Ray Sakiestewa, Marco Stone Sakiestewa, Jeremy Jacobs, Perry Jacobs, and grandson Chanden Lee Jacob. She is also survived by her dear mother, Lorene Rabbit, and Patrica Bunner, sister Yonevea Sue (Bunner) Morrison, spouse Justin Morrison, and nephews Dakota Kahbeah, Junior Kahbeah, Joseph Kahbeah, Sonny Mekko Kahbeah, Justis Miller and Wesley Morrison. Father-in-law Alegeron Sakiestewa Sr., and the Sakiestewa Family, and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.

In honoring Anecia's life, let us celebrate the remarkable woman; she was a shining spirit with a heart full of kindness and strong faith. May she rest in eternal peace.
