Alvin Kenny Faircloth
Alvin Kenny Faircloth passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the age of 81.
Alvin was born on June 12, 1944, in Jacksonville, Florida, to James and Muriel (Mann) Faircloth. He grew up in Jacksonville and graduated from Paxon High School in 1963. Soon after graduation, Alvin answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. His service to the nation was one of the great honors of his life. Alvin carried a deep sense of patriotism throughout his years, never wavering in his love for America, the freedoms he fought to protect, and the values he held dear. One of his proudest weekly traditions was raising the American flag in his yard every Sunday beside the flagpole he treasured so much.
While working for Paramount Pictures and driving a brand-new Mustang, Alvin's life changed forever when his brother John and Sister-in-law Barbara came for an Easter trip to Jacksonville and introduced him to Zirah Lynn. Their courtship was brief but certain, and the two were married on January 17, 1969, in Jacksonville, Florida. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, love, and unwavering devotion to one another.
Following their marriage, Alvin and Zirah moved to Westlake Louisiana, where Alvin attended McNeese State University and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. The same year he graduated, they welcomed their only daughter Marla into their lives. In 1976, he took a job working for the Department of Energy and the family moved to Jenks, Oklahoma, and later settled in Broken Arrow in 1978, where they planted deep roots and built lifelong friendships. Alvin retired from BP Amoco where he worked for 17 years as a gas and oil auditor.
Alvin and Zirah became longtime members of Arrow Heights Baptist Church in 1988. Alvin loved Jesus deeply and lived his faith quietly but faithfully each day. He served his community with the same integrity and dedication he showed throughout his life, including 13 years of service on the Board of Directors for Red Crown Credit Union.
Alvin was a man of many talents and passions. He loved pencil drawing, editing family videos, and music, especially playing classical guitar. He enjoyed listening to guitarist Tommy Crook and found joy in both creating art and appreciating it. Above all else, Alvin loved spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband who loved his wife fully and faithfully, a proud father and grandfather, and a deeply cherished "PawPaw." He was so very proud of his grandchildren.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Zirah Lynn Faircloth; daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Marla and Barrett Stubblefield; grandchildren, Ethan and Ella Stubblefield; brother, John Faircloth of Crestview, Florida; sisters, Elizabeth Grimm of Crestview, Florida, and Mildred Ann Glass of Jacksonville, Florida,; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws; and siblings, Don, Malcolm, and Sherry.
