Wanda June Durham

April 22, 1932 — December 29, 2020

Wanda June Durham, age 88, of Sand Springs, passed from this life December 29, 2020. Wanda was born April 22, 1932 in Monroe, Oklahoma to Henry and Irene Blaylock. She attended high school in Sand Springs, where she met and married John Durham, Jr., in 1948. Wanda and John were blessed with three children, Craig, Leslie and Scott, whom they raised in Sand Springs. Wanda worked at Commander Mills for 15 years. Later she earned a real estate license and worked as a successful real estate agent for 17 years. After retiring from real estate, Wanda found she could not remain idle. She started her own wallpaper business and continued to hang wallpaper for new homebuilders into her late 60’s. She also remained active in her church, Trinity Baptist, and as a community volunteer. She enjoyed “running the streets,” and entertaining family and friends.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents Henry Blaylock and Irene Schmidt, husband John Durham, sister Margaret Williams, son Craig Durham, and daughter Leslie Mushrush. She is survived by sister Elaine Keller (and her husband Richard) of Ventura, California; by son Scott Durham (and his wife Jessie) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; by nine grandchildren: Angela Durham, Kary Stephens (Mike), Drew Durham (Brittany), Jeff Mushrush (Tina), Scott Mushrush (Keenan), Michael Durham (Brittany), Tony Durham (Meagan), Gunner Durham (Rylie), and Tiger Durham, by 15 great grandchildren: Annabelle Johnston, Shelton Johnston, Jacob Brennan, Haile Weldon, Daisy Coyle, Taylor Coyle, Kodi Coyle, Mikena Stephens, Dylan Durham, Ava Durham, Ryan Mushrush (Ashley), Josh Mushrush, Scout Mushrush, Trinity Durham, and Brooklyn Durham; and by four great-great grandchildren: Dahlia Cook, Nixon Cook, Julia Ramirez, and Grayson Beck; and by numerous nephews, nieces and lifelong friends.

A celebration of Wanda’s life will be held at a future date. In the meantime, please share special memories on this website. In lieu of flowers, tribute donations may be made to the Oklahoma Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org.
