Vivian Ruth Kempthorne

Vivian R. Kempthorne, age 87, a resident of Glenpool, Oklahoma, died Tuesday morning, July 27, 2021 in St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was born July 8, 1934 in Dresden, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Clark McNeal and Bernice (Flegal) Jordan. Her husband, Loy Lee Kempthorne, whom she married February 10, 1974, passed away on July 11, 2016. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Christopher Wilson, Barry Wilson, and Stan Kempthorne; two brothers, Virgil Jordan and Cecil Jordan.

Vivian retired June 1, 1994 from the J.C. Penney Company at Zanesville, Ohio where she was employed for fourteen years as a data entry specialist. She had previously been employed by Armco and Rockwell International. A 1952 graduate of the former Frazeysburg High School, she was active in the Lutheran Church for many years, most recently the King of Kings Lutheran Church in Glenpool. In her later years, she engaged in a number of hobbies including sewing and quilting and completed countless jigsaw puzzles. Prior to his death, she and Loy were constant companions and enjoyed a very active lifestyle together, which included enjoying their race horses while retired in Deming, New Mexico.

She is survived by a son Stuart (wife, Nancy Tolbert) Wilson of Glenpool, Oklahoma, and a daughter Mrs. Penny (husband, Mike) Huff of Dover, OH; four grandchildren, Mrs. Carissa (husband, Jesse) Gambs of Massillon, OH, Mrs. Ashley (husband, Jeff) Huff of El Paso, Texas, Dylan Kempthorne of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Jordan Huff of New Philadelphia, OH; six great-grandchildren, Ryan and Joshua Gay both of Massillon, OH. and Hailey, Zachary, Paige and Peyton Huff, all of El Paso, Texas; a sister Clarice Varner of Nashport, OH; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 7, 2021 in the Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bonnie Grimaldi officiating, where interment will follow.
