Twalla Joy Haynes

Twalla Joy Haynes passed away with loving family by her side Thursday evening, April 25, 2019, at the age of 76 years. Joy was born on November 25, 1942 in Chicago, IL to her parents, Allen and Twala (Lange) Johnson. She met the love of her life, John Haynes, and they were married on May 16, 1970 in Joliet, IL. She worked as a receptionist and nurse’s aide at Salem Village Nursing Home.

Joy’s hobbies included shopping, especially bargain shopping and antiquing; watching HGTV programs, sewing, collecting carnival glass. She also enjoyed bowling, dancing, being active, arts & crafts, knitting, and planting flowers, however most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, whether it was playing cards and games or taking family trips with kids and then grandkids. She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, South Dakota, California, and Wisconsin.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Twala Johnson; brother, David Johnson; sister, Jeanette Scudella; and cousin, Jane (Valzny) Boelcke. Joy leaves many loving memories with her family, husband, John Haynes; son, Ramond Haynes; daughter, Lana (Haynes) Rivera and her favorite son-in-law, Ervey Rivera; brother, Allen Johnson; cousins, Esther Williams, Jim Valzny, and Arthur Lange; grandchildren, Amanda Haynes , Angelo Haynes, Raymond Salazar, Mia Salazar, Celia Salazar; great-grandchildren, Angelo Haynes Jr., Addison Haynes, and Lola Salazar.

Viewing and visitation will be 5:00 PM 8:00 PM Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service, 5757 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK 74145.

Services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, May 3, 2019 at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service with Pastor Bernardo Rangel officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Ramond Haynes, Lana Rivera, Ervey Rivera, Angelo Haynes, Raymond Salazar, and Allen Johnson.
