Truman Lee Putnam

Lee (Jack) Putnam died on September 3, 2018 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He was born on February 17, 1937 in Fairfax, Oklahoma to Walter and Marie Putnam. He married Mae Putnam on October 6, 1955 and upon her passing he married Louise Brewer in August of 1995. He retired from the Tulsa Fire Department as Captain, while working at the Fire Department he also worked part time for the Performing Art Center as a stage hand for many years. Lee enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends.


He graduated from Glenpool High School, after graduation he was awarded a basketball scholarship, but one of his greatest joys in life was to play and teach basketball fundamentals. He loved the game.

He was preceded in death by parents Walter and Marie Putnam, late wife Mae Putnam and his grandson Mark Coble Jr. of Glenpool.


Survivors include wife Louise Putnam of Glenpool, son Richard Putnam and wife Sheila of Glenpool, daughter Donna Coble of Sapulpa, daughter Nancy Putnam of Kiefer. Stepdaughter Rhonda and Husband Fred Owens of Glenpool, stepson Don and wife Kelly Butcher of Wagoner, brother Bill Putnam of Leonard, sister Harriet and husband Arthur Spears of Glenpool. And a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces nephews cousins and many friends.
