November 10, 1935 — April 30, 2019

A funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Sue Sellers will be 2:00PM Friday, May 3, 2019 at the Crossroads Church in Jenks, Oklahoma with Rev. Doug Carey officiating. The family will receive friends for a viewing and visitation on Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 5:00-8:00PM at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel. On April 30, 2019, Sue Sellers, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away, at home peacefully at the age of 83 due to complications of ALS.

She was born on November 10, 1935 in Ozark, Arkansas, to Julia and Edward Adams. She married E.J. Sellers, her husband of 65 years, on October 11, 1954.

Quilting was always a passion for Sue where she enjoyed quilting in the Cavanaugh Ladies Quilting Club where she made beautiful, personalized quilts for local newborns, children in crisis, those facing health challenges and missionaries.

Music was always a big part of her life. She sang in gospel trios, quartets and church choirs, as well as singing the special when she first met her love, EJ, at church at age 15.

Sue and E.J. were active members of Cavanaugh Free Will Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas for 37 years before moving to Tulsa in 2008. It was in that same year they found their home at Crossroads Church where they continued to serve.

Sue's belief and faith in Christ began as a young girl and continued on until the end when she would often be heard reciting prayers as she was lying in bed. She was a prayer warrior for her family and friends at church.

Sue is preceded in death by her father, Edward Adams, and mother, Julia, her brothers Jack, Kenneth and Charles Adams.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Karl Bode, of Tulsa; brother, Tommy Adams of Saint Louis and son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Peggy Sellers of Van Buren, Arkansas.

Sue had many talents. She was once dubbed miss good housekeeper and had a knack for organization. Many people commented that she possessed the sweetest spirit.
