Sonja Kay Lowe Waters

Sonja Kay Lowe-Waters, 80, lost her battle to pancreatic cancer on Tuesday, Nov 17, 2020 at her home in Broken Arrow, OK. Born July 27,1940 in Hewins, KS to James and Dot Burrow. Sonja’s children were fortunate to have her as a stay-at-home mom, devoting her time and energy, and lovingly raising her family.

Sonja was preceded in death by Norman E. Lowe, her high school sweetheart and husband of 27 years. They had four children together- Kim, Daren, Michael & Sheree. Years later, Sonja wed her late husband Royce ‘George’ Waters. They spent 16 years together and were able to enjoy some travel and golf. Many dear friendships were formed in those years. Sonja was called to live the last year of her life at the Baptist Village community. There she thoroughly enjoyed the activities, fellowship, and memories made with treasured friends. The family is forever grateful for this!

Sonja is survived by her sister: Connie Leos & husband Steve and their children Lori Leos, Tim Leos & wife Sandy. Her children: Kim Holzwarth & husband Steve; Daren Lowe & wife Janet; Michael Lowe; Sheree McNulty & husband Jerry. Affectionately known as Mamaw to grandchildren: Angela & Chris Burnett; Taylor & Kristin Gregston; Conner, Colton & Courtney Lowe; Joshua, Isac & Elijah Lowe; Adam, Sam & Ben McNulty. Great grandchildren: Addy, Nolan, Branson & Cannon Burnett.

Visitation: Thursday, Nov 19 from 3-5pm Schaudt's -Tulsa, 5757 S. Memorial Dr. Tulsa, OK 74145. Celebration of Life-Graveside Service: Friday, Nov 20 @ 3 pm at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 S. Memorial Dr; Tulsa, OK 74145. Chairs not provided at Graveside Service. Those attending can bring your own chair if needed. The family requests those attending the visitation & services to wear a mask and to distance themselves safely from others.
