Shelia Norman

Shelia Annette (George) Norman, 58, peacefully passed away on April 12, 2018 at her home in Tulsa, OK. She was surrounded by her family as she made her final journey. She was born on July 13, 1959 in McKinney, TX to J.W. and Maurine (Lokey) George.

Shelia grew up in Denton, TX and graduated from Faith Christian Academy in 1977. After high school she attended Ozark Bible Institute where she graduated in 1982.

Shelia married Jerald Norman in 1983 in Mesquite, TX. They raised their family in Texas until Shelia had a job transfer to Tulsa Oklahoma. She began to attend First Assembly of God in Catoosa while continuing to work at Avis Budget Group, where she was employed for 25 years. Her hobbies included spending time with family, playing games, and making trips to Texas (crossing the Red River into Canaan's Land).

She loved to study and obtain knowledge. In 2014 she began her pursuit of an MBA degree through Oklahoma Wesleyan University. She earned her Bachelors in 2016. Then, she continued her MBA course until her battle with cancer caused her to stop 3 classes short of getting her Master's degree.

Shelia is survived by her husband Jerald of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her children Julie (Christopher) Ovard of Van, TX, Jennifer Norman of Catoosa, Ok and Jerrid Norman of Tulsa, OK; her sister Debbie (Jackie) Rogers of Princeton, TX; her grandchildren Zachary (Emily) Moree of Van, TX, Timon Ovard of Van, TX and Elisha Ovard of Van, TX; and her nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Shelia was preceded in death by her parents, her grand-daughter Praise Melody Ovard and her niece Rebekah Mullett.

Public Viewing will be held Monday, 16th of April, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Schaudt’s Tulsa Funeral Service Chapel.

Services for Mrs. Shelia Norman will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM at First Assembly of God in Catoosa, Oklahoma with Pastor David Tucker officiating.

The Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Wilson Chapel Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The address for the cemetery is 2135 Chapel Ln, McKinney, Texas 75069.
