Sandra Faye Hilliard

April 20, 1963 — June 17, 2020

After a four year battle with breast cancer, Sandra Faye Cooper-Hilliard was called home on June 17th, 2020 at the age of 57. She was born on April 20th,1963 in Pineville, Louisiana. She was raised in LeCompte, Louisiana. She attended LSUA and was a well known, respected, and loved bank teller at the local bank in LeCompte. Following her marriage to Robert Hilliard in 1991, she relocated numerous times as a military wife. In 1998, she settled in Mounds, Oklahoma. She was an involved band, cheer, track, and volleyball Mom and Nana. She was a committed fan of Glenpool Warrior Football and a true, blue Warrior at heart. Sandra was the mother of five Glenpool graduates and a fixture in the Glenpool community. She was the type that never met a stranger and always wore a smile that would brighten your day. Sandra was Nana to many others as she began offering childcare in her home. She loved the summer days with them and popsicles on the porch, park days, and capturing cherished moments on camera.

Sandra was a devoted mother that left her daughters with many lessons on life, love, respect, kindness, and the importance of family. She taught them to laugh and have a good time as she herself had a great sense of humor. She was great at dance moves and her sass knew no limit.

She had a well loved hobby of collecting Rusic Cuffs and had just begun taking small trips to do so with her dear friend Virenda Casey of Bixby, OK.

She gave her time and attention to Glenpool Cheer and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She did many crafts and special treats for her children and grandchildren throughout the years. In good health or sickness, she was committed to the people she loved. She was baptized a second time in her life at Transformation Church on May 27, 2018 as she and God continued to prepare for her journey.

As a Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit fan, it is no surprise that she went on a journey of her own in life. She battled a powerful foe with unwavering bravery, faith, and courage. She is a hero in the eyes of many and will always be remembered. We could continue on and we could never put into words what she meant to so many people. She was one of a kind and we will love her far beyond her last day with us.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Robert Hilliard; daughters, Karen D. Cooper, Allison R. Hilliard, Rosalynd E. Hilliard, Cameron R. Hilliard, and Taylor D. Hilliard of Mounds, OK; grandsons Staton C. and Slayde C. Vandiver of Mounds, OK; mother Helen Clark of Pineville, La.,brother George Cooper, Jr. and family of Texas, sister Carolyn A. Armstead of Pineville, La, niece Brittany L. Armstead of Pineville, La, and a host of in-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, great nieces, and great nephews.

Sandra was preceded in death by her grandmother Lillian Clark, her maternal aunts Brenda Lockett and Martha Clark, and cousins Barry Clark and Byron Henton.

As Sandra was a humble woman who invested in people and not things, a small memorial ceremony will be held at the Glenpool High School football stadium on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 7:30. A Celebration of Life will also be held in her hometown of LeCompte, La on Saturday, June 27, 2020.

In lieu of flowers, it is Sandra’s request that donations are made to a savings account for her youngest daughter Taylor D. Hilliard. The donations can be made at BancFirst (please reference Karen Cooper or Allison Hilliard when donating to the account).
