Ryba Jean Sheldon

Ryba Jean Sheldon was born in Webb City, OK on Nov 30, 1940 to Arthur and Artie King. She married the love of her life Bob Sheldon on April 14, 1960 in Escondido, California. Of the marriage her and Bob had three wonderful boys, Bobby Lee Jr, Christopher Dean and Patrick Gale, who were the light of her eyes.

Ryba was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. She made sure she always had candy and special treats when her great-grand children came to visit. This earned her the name Grandma Cinnamon Roll. She worked at the Glenpool Schools for 16 years as a cook. It is no coincidence that Ryba's favorite scripture was Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come to me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. She found joy in her purpose feeding the children in the community.

She was proud of her boys and recognized their talents. When they were growing up she supported them in whatever extracurricular activities they were involved in, whether it was football, basketball, or choir. She loved camping, fishing, and being at the lake. In her spare time she watched western movies and listened to gospel music, her favorite song was "I Can Only Imagine" performed by Ivan Parker. She was extremely skilled at crossword puzzles. Her grandson Ben admired her crossword skill and described her talent as masterful.

Ryba's favorite color was purple, a hue the Bible uses to represent royalty and great worth, the symbolism is further confirmed by her maiden name, King. She loved all God's creatures especially butterflies. Butterflies signify endurance, hope, life and most importantly the resurrection of Christ.
